/03 Automated Blasting System for Surface Finishing of Polymer 3D Printed Parts
The BAM10 automated blasting machine is Addiblast’s high-throughput solution for surface finishing and powder removal of polymer additive manufactured parts. Designed for production-scale post-processing, BAM10 automates the cleaning and refining of full batches of 3D prints — reducing manual effort, improving repeatability, and ensuring consistent surface quality across every part.
Whether you’re running large volumes of SLS, MJF, or other polymer-based parts, BAM10 delivers precision results through a controlled combination of tumbling, compressed air, and media blasting — all housed in a robust stainless steel cabinet with programmable process parameters.
Key Features & Benefits of BAM10
At the core of BAM10 is a 50-liter rotating drum, optimized for tumbling and cleaning full batches of polymer 3D printed parts. Two injector blasting nozzles, mounted on adjustable fixtures, ensure uniform blasting across all part surfaces. Adjust rotation speed, nozzle distance, blasting pressure, and media dosage from the HMI touchscreen, making recipe creation and process repeatability simple and scalable.
BAM10 performs a two-stage process — starting with compressed air depowdering to remove loose particles, followed by glass bead blasting to refine surface finish. This combined approach eliminates the need for separate machines or manual cleaning, streamlining your post-processing workflow.
Blasting media and residual powder are extracted using a GMT ventilator and cyclone separator. Reusable media is separated, filtered, and returned to the blasting generator, while waste is collected in a bin under the integrated filter unit. This closed-loop media recycling system improves efficiency and reduces operational costs.
For larger components that don’t fit in the drum, BAM10 features a dedicated manual blasting mode. Use the integrated blow-off gun, heavy-duty gloves, and foot pedal controls to blast directly inside the chamber. Switch between modes on the HMI to maximize flexibility without compromising productivity.

/05 Frequently Asked Questions
- What materials is BAM10 designed for?
BAM10 is optimized for polymer 3D printed parts from SLS, MJF, or similar processes. Common materials include PA12, TPU, PA11, and filled polymers. - Can BAM10 both clean and finish parts?
Yes. BAM10 performs depowdering and surface blasting in one cycle, eliminating the need for separate steps or machines. - What type of blasting media is used?
BAM10 supports a variety of media, but glass beads are commonly used for uniform, semi-matte finishes. Custom media options are available based on your part and finish requirements. - Is manual blasting still possible?
Yes. BAM10 features a manual mode for large or delicate parts, using an internal blasting gun, foot pedal control, and operator access via gloves. - Does BAM10 recycle blasting media?
Yes. Media and powder are extracted, filtered, and separated by a cyclone separator, allowing reusable media to return to the system automatically.
